• Bring 1-2 clothing items from your closet (on hangers, please), and one accessory (jewelry, scarf, handbag etc.). Think clean and current — things you still love but that don’t fit you, your lifestyle or maybe even your closet anymore.
  • After that, you’ll spend time sipping on cocktails, enjoying hors d’oeuvres, and shopping local vendors while listening to music by DJ Gabby Love.
  • When the announcement is made, you get to “shop” other women’s closets — arranged in a boutique-style setting — for items to take home in return.

TIPS

  • Arrive on time. The first 50 guests will receive a complimentary, reusable Style Swap Indy tote full of goodies from local vendors.
  • Give what you hope to receive: The best items to bring are things you love but just happen to be too small, too short, too long, or no longer “fit” you in some way.
  • Clothing should be in good to like-new condition: No holes, stains, missing buttons, broken zippers, etc. Jewelry should be fully functional.
  • Vintage is okay but please mind quality control (see above). P.S. Five seasons ago does not count as vintage…yet.
  • If it’s been sitting in your closet with the tags on for over three months, bring it. Chances are you’re never going to wear something that’s been sitting there collecting dust.
  • Take home the equivalent of what you bring. For example, one piece of clothing = one piece of clothing, one accessory = one accessory.
  • Follow us on Twitter and “Like” us on Facebook for event updates, giveaways and more.
  • Bring a friend along – take peek at what she’s been hiding in her closet.

FAQS

  • What happens if I don’t find anything I like? Only bring items that you are comfortable parting with. Once an item has been turned over it becomes part of the swap.
  • Can I bring extra items for donation? Leave extra items for donation at home. We’re happy to provide information on locations where you can drop off additional unwanted items.
  • What happens to the items that aren’t swapped? Any items left over from the swap are then donated to either Coburn Place or The Julian Center.
